Goals

  • 1. Every Tuesday morning we will meet for a clinic-wide staff meeting to address team/patient satisfaction, concerns, and discuss new changes or ideas for growth.
  • 2. Over a five-year period 100% compliant in completing a minimum of 100 continuing education hours in accordance with AANP regulations.
  • 3. Patient wait times from check-in to being placed in an examination room will be 15 -20 minutes.

The focus of this course is on the utilization of complex models and systems of practice to deliver high quality evidence-based care to pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The emphasis of the course is on the critical analysis of the evidence for applications that optimize health outcomes
  • NFH 692 – Residency: Family Nurse Practitioner -The purpose of this course is to enhance acquired management strategies and the use of best practice models in the delivery of high-quality evidence-based care to pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The focus of this course is to evaluate progress toward achievement of professional competencies. The emphasis is on the incorporation of evidence and concepts from previous coursework and clinical practice to improve the health status of pediatric, adult and elderly populations
  • NFH 622 – Family Nurse Practitioner II - The purpose of this course is to integrate prior theoretical and practical knowledge for diagnoses and management of the health and illness for the pediatric, adult, and elderly populations. The focus of this course is on health promotion and disease prevention and management strategies from Interprofessional domains. The emphasis of this course is to examine current evidence that supports the delivery of safe and high-quality evidence-based care to the pediatric, adult, and elderly population.
  • NFH 686 – Practicum II: Family Nurse Practitioner - The purposes of this course are to prioritize management strategies and apply selected practice models for delivery of care to pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The focus of this course is to provide the student with opportunities to integrate in depth diagnostic and management skills to provide care for pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The emphasis of this course is on the formulation and management of individualized treatment plans based on diagnostic findings and current practice models
  • NFH 621 – Family Nurse Practitioner I - The purpose of this course is to introduce essential concepts in the safe and effective provision of advanced practice nursing. The focus of this course is to prepare the student to implement the role of the Advanced Practice Nurse. The emphasis of this course is on the acquisition of the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver safe and effective care to pediatric, adult and elderly populations.
  • NFH 685 – Practicum I: Family Nurse Practitioner - The purpose of this course is to demonstrate management strategies and apply selected practice models for the delivery of high-quality care to pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The focus of this course is on the delivery of health care services to pediatric, adult and elderly populations. The emphasis of this course is on promoting the progression of competence within the Advanced Practice Nursing role.
  • NFH 618 – Focus on Advanced Nursing Practice Specialization - The purpose of this course is the study of specialty track specific topics. The focus of the course is to provide foundational materials for specialized areas of advanced nursing practice. Emphasis is on exploring specific advanced nursing practice competencies
  • NFH 614 – Assessment and Diagnostic Reasoning for Advanced Nursing Practice - This course is designed to provide students with an advanced level of skill and knowledge in critical thinking and diagnostic reasoning for conducting health assessments and planning care for holistic, adaptive human beings. The following elements are integrated into the course: professional presentations, critical thinking, scientific integrity and ethics, human diversity, and social issues.
  • NUR 606 - The purpose of this course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills to evaluate and interpret evidence that facilitates application in practice. The focus of the course is on the management, analysis, and translation of health care evidence to improve practice, systems, and health outcomes. The emphasis of the course is evidence-based practice, safety and quality, informatics, emerging technologies, data management, applied statistics, evaluation, and trend analysis.
  • NUR 610 – Healthcare Systems for Advanced Nursing Practice - The purpose of this course is to provide students an opportunity to evaluate health care systems that influence advanced nursing practice. The focus of the course is on organizational theories of business practice and health care economics. The emphasis of the course is on the incorporation of business, legal, political, and organizational concepts in advanced nursing practice.
  • NUR 613 – Pharmacology and Therapeutics - This course focuses on the analysis and use of principles of pharmacology, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics for the purpose of planning, implementing and evaluating therapeutic pharmacological interventions. The unique characteristics of special populations related to therapeutic needs, as well as drug absorption, metabolism and excretion are defined.
  • NUR 604 – Leadership in Advanced Nursing Practice Roles - The purpose of this course is to provide students with the foundation for an in-depth understanding of advanced nursing practice leadership. The focus of the course is on the principles and standards of advanced nursing practice. The emphasis of the course is on inter-professional collaboration in healthcare
  • NUR 612 – Advanced Pathophysiology – The purpose of this course is to provide an analysis of pathophysiology in frequently encountered conditions across the life span and in special populations. Pathophysiological theories and research as a basis for advanced nursing practice is also discussed. In-depth case analysis of pathophysiological adaptation and alterations in selected conditions across the life span is also included.
