Executive Vice President, City President, Market P

Southern Bancorp
08.2017 - 03.2024
  • 1. I managed a loan department with a $100,000,000.00 loan portfolio, two additional lenders and three assistants. I handled HR issues (time off, disciplinary actions, etc), portfolio management issues (approving credits, keeping exceptions and past dues as a percentage of the portfolio at a benchmark), and conducted weekly meetings (sales & production, past dues, etc).
  • 2. I managed my own $20MM+ loan portfolio that was concentrated in south Arkansas, north Louisiana and east Texas.
  • 3. It was my responsibility to be one of the “faces” of the bank in Union county, so I played an active role in my community thru participation in civic clubs, city commissions, and coaching my daughter’s sports teams. I also drove production thru networking functions, my membership in civic organizations, as well as thru referrals from existing customers. In my first 90 days I brought in $10MM of new loans, and was named 2017 Commercial Lender of the Year, even though I’d only been employed with the bank for four months in 2017.

Assistant Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer

  • 1. I managed a $20,000,000.00 loan portfolio concentrated in El Dorado/Union county and North Louisiana, through high-touch relationship management and holistic, consultative banking advisory.
  • 2. I drove new business through networking with local centers of influence, pragmatically prospecting for new business partners, and staying cognizant of any penetration opportunities available in existing customers due any absence of solutions for financial needs.
  • 3. I ensured quality credit was placed on the books by getting to know the businesses I worked with through thoroughly analyzing the creditworthiness of new requests, keeping abreast of my customers’ dynamic financial situations, and reacting to changes when necessary.
