Singing River introduced me to the equipment world of line work. I've been around heavy equipment most of my life up to this point, but aerial and diggers were new to me. I took into learning everything I could and each day leads a new task. I thoroughly enjoy this work and enjoy working with Altec and Terex Field Mechanics to coordinate repairs. We service a fleet of over 250 vehicles and trailers spread out over 3 office locations, so theres plenty to do and learn. Work load changes on the fly at SRE. One minute you may be installing tires or wiper blades on small car and the next you may have 2 aerials stuck in the air simultaneously, so being flexible is a necessity.

My wife and I moved to Yazoo to take a job at Gateway Tire, a chain location that was bought out by local Simmons Tire shortly after my arrival. Simmons was one of my favorite job experiences to date. Pay was based off commission and scheduling was left up to the mechanics. I learnt quick on establishing a loyal customer base and ensuring quick and efficient repair. The rough Mississippi Delta kept us busy with suspension repairs and alignments, but I repaired most anything customers threw my way including A/C repairs and standard wear items. I learnt a great deal on electrical diagnostic during my time at Simmons. I'm always wanting to expand my knowledge of automotive systems, so taking the electrical repair jobs just pushed myself to familiarize myself with updated systems.

At Glens Auto, I diagnosed and repaired most standard mechanical and electrical system failures and performed routine maintenance as well as engine overhauls and replacements. During a break in my employment here I served a stent in college from August, 2016 to May, 2019.

Mississippi State has a program coined the E-Center "Entrepreneur Center." I was employed here to help start-up businesses develop and refine functional prototypes of their products and models. This job helped me tremendously with team communication and scheduling. It also greatly grew my knowledge and skill with electrical components as well and 3D Modeling and CAD Design, both of which I still use today.
