Detail-oriented with hands-on experience in vehicle repair and maintenance. Very much a problem-solver, motivated to fix things when they're broken, even if it's frustrating. I haven't worked retail, but as a musician, I have to be able to communicate and collaborate.
I've done all the repairs on my family's vehicles for years, and in the process, repaired almost every part of a car, from small electrical issues to brakes, hubs, suspension, cooling systems, AC systems, and two timing chains. I have also worked on friend's vehicles, sometimes for money. With a friend, I have saved some cars from their doom, including a 2002 Nissan Maxima that had sat for eight years.
This was an internship through Sirius Staffing in which I worked at Mississippi Power. Initially, I served as a helper, shadowing the mechanics, learning from them, and helping them to complete repairs on diesel trucks, trailers, and booms on the linemen's trucks. I then worked on my own performing many trailer inspections, brake/wheel hub jobs, oil changes, some simple wiring, steering wheels, window regulators, suspension, and whatever else needed to be done.
