How I Will Contribute to the Department’s Growth

With 17 years of dedicated service to the Vicksburg Fire Department, I’ve built a career rooted in leadership, mentorship, and continuous growth. Starting as a firefighter in 2008, I’ve progressed through every position in the department — ambulance driver, paramedic, private, lieutenant, and now Captain — giving me a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and responsibilities at every level.

In my current role as Captain/Paramedic, I lead daily operations, mentor junior firefighters, and develop training programs that improve performance, safety, and readiness. I’ve acted as Incident Commander during high-pressure responses ensuring effective coordination and firefighter safety. My experience allows me to see the big picture while understanding the needs of individual firefighters, making me uniquely suited to lead the training division.

Beyond my fire service, I am the founder and owner of Rejuvenating Fitness LLC and Rejuvenated Blueprint LLC, where I’ve helped hundreds of clients improve their physical, mental, and emotional readiness. From face-to-face coaching to expanding my platform online in 2024, I’ve trained a diverse range of clients, including Miss Mississippi 2023 Vivian O’Neal and Miss Mississippi 2025 Anna Leah Jolly as she prepares for Miss America. Running a successful business requires organization, adaptability, and people skills, all of which directly translate to managing a department-wide training program.

My background as a certified personal trainer (ISSA 2018, NASM 2021) adds another layer of value to this role. I know firsthand the importance of firefighter fitness and lead by example by maintaining my own readiness. Training firefighters isn’t just about tactics — it’s about preparing them physically, mentally, and emotionally for the demands of this profession.

Finally, my dedication to personal and professional growth has driven me to successfully pass the Battalion Commander’s exam, further demonstrating my readiness to take on greater responsibility within the department. I’m committed to leveraging my leadership experience, fitness expertise, and passion for training to develop innovative programs that elevate firefighter performance, safety, and preparedness.

This role is more than a promotion for me — it’s an opportunity to invest in our firefighters, strengthen our department, and ensure we remain prepared for whatever challenges lie ahead.
