My goal is to give children the same great foundation that I had as a child. It was through early education that I came to admire the work and dedication that my teachers showed. Teachers have the special gift of shaping a young person's mind to see and achieve their full potential. Not just that, but teachers are almost like second parents. Some children have issues at home, and without someone to guide and encourage them their dreams may never be realized. Every child is special, and I believe that there should be more teachers willing to step up and be there for their students. As a future educator, I want to be able to do that for my students too. I want to be able to show them that someone truly cares, and that they all are special. I believe that children are the key to our future, and the best gift we can give to them is a good educational foundation to start with.

I come from a single parent home. My mother has raised both me and my sister on her own with little to no help. She has had to work excessive hours and even lesser paying jobs just to make ends meet. We did not have everything we wanted but she made sure we always had what we needed. I have watched my mother struggle over the years to make sure that we have the basics, I am applying for this scholarship to help her in anyway I can. My mom was finally able to finish college in 2013 and I know she is still paying on student loans now. But even with her own debt she is still sacrificing to make sure that both my sister and I are able to go to college to make something of ourselves.
